How it works

Spain’s Digital Nomad Visa allows remote professionals to live and legally work from Spain while being employed or contracted by companies outside the country. It’s designed for non-EU nationals who can prove stable income, professional experience, and remote capability. The process starts in your home country and, once approved, leads to residence in Spain and legal remote work authorization.

  • Apply from your country of residence: Submit your visa application at the Spanish consulate with proof of income, remote employment, and professional qualifications.

  • Maintain foreign work activity: You must work for a company or clients based outside Spain. At least 80% of your income must come from non-Spanish sources.

  • Get approved and move to Spain: Once granted, the visa allows you to live in Spain, register locally, and apply for your Foreigner Identity Card (TIE).

Valid Passport

With at least 1 year validity and 2 blank pages.

Criminal Record Certificate

From the last 2–5 years, legalized/apostilled and translated into Spanish.

Private Health Insurance

Full coverage valid in Spain, no co-payments, covering hospitalization and repatriation.

Proof of Employment/Activity

Work contract or company letter (minimum 3 months), or client contracts if freelancing.

Proof of Income

Bank statements, payslips, or tax returns showing a minimum annual income of around €33,152.
